Say what?!

I know that this entry will seem random, but after
seeing some shiz on FB.. I am about to let it out...

Why do people get enjoyment from the failures of others? Whether it be they have a colossial boo-boo of epic proportions, ego, or just fail at some goal they've set? I am not innocent of this either; I laugh when I know I shouldn't. I take the coward way out a bit and not stand up. Maybe I'm just noticing since it's a fact that I'm on the other end of it...no matter how much denial I'm in. That needs to change... the denial, the judgment, the hurtful comments. I mean why is it that at least of half of our interactions with others includes gossiping about others? People are just more cruel than they used to be... am I alone in this or am I delusional?

And I'll leave you guys with a quote & a challenge:

"Be Impeccable With Your Word. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love."  ----Miguel Angel Ruiz

  1. I ahve recently went through this myself. It is very hard when lies are being told about you. Just live in truth and it will hopefully work itself out. I have learned that no matter what you do or say there are some that won't believe you. As long as you know the truth it will be okay.

    MAny Blessings to you, V.

  2. I have really noticed an upsurge in the hateful, pointless comments people leave on you-tube videos. I not talking about the crap videos but the quality ones that people have put quality time and effort into. The crudity, the insults just leave me with my mouth hanging open. Have people become more vial, I don't know, but with social networking they have an instantaneous way to spread their venom.

  3. I think if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything. Especially on the internet because sarcasm and criticism don't really translate that well into type. But some people just like to be a-holes and unfortunately, they can get away with it online. If they said something that rude to someones face, they might get punched!

  4. The world is cruel, people are just conforming. Not really. I think it is easier to be negative and cruel than positive and nice.

    BTW TAG YOU'RE IT!

  5. The old saying still goes.... people belittle to feel better about themselves. Misery loves company. Not to mention, being a writer I see a lot of things like this. I think it is just jealousy when someone gets enjoyment from a fail. Good post. Venting is good for you. =)
