Snow White: A Tale of Terror

1997

Snow White: A Tale of Terror is vastly different than the Disney version. This movie is more comparable to the Grimm Brothers original story. The movie stars Sigourney Weaver, Sam Neill and Monica Keena as Lily (aka Snow White). The plot is on-point and the actors' performances are mind-blowing (esp. S.W.). I also like the fact that although it is a horror movie, it isn't constantly "trying" to scare you... it just does.

I give it:

It has become a Bewitchingyou favorite!

Thank you...

to all of the soldiers fighting for our freedom. It is a huge sacrifice to be apart from one's family.

We should all try to do our part. I really love the Adopt A U.S. Soldier program. I have "adopted" 3 soldiers so far. I will admit that I am not a perfect penpal - thankfully the AAUSS program gives each soldier a couple of penpals. My first soldier "Sgt." actually wrote me back - I couldn't believe it. He's fighting and writing me (a complete stranger) back. I have kept his post cards -- they are extremely positive. If HE can be positive in a warzone, then I can be positive in my everyday life.

Any way, if you are interested, the link is listed below:

I also want to give a shout-out to "Tater", a Vietnam vet. My friend passed away last year and at his funeral they read a letter written by Tater. It spoke of how America didn't welcome them home and how upsetting it was that America didn't support them.
Whether you "believe" in the war or not, show some RESPECT & SUPPORT. They are following orders. They are fighting for US. You have no idea how it affects them when you are unsupportive. R.I.P Robert "Tater" Tatum.
God bless you all!

Wow.... Gotta View!

Ahhh 'nother! :]

I just received the ahh-mazing Zombie Rabbit Award from Lisa at Maple Grove Cemetery. I am SO excited! Thank you so much! So go by and check out her Cemetery; it would please any creature of the night :]

So of course with accepting the award, there are stipulations...

1. Give this award to up to 10 who you like, but also give a couple to the "Next Blog" Slider on the top so random bloggers can feel the love of a stranger.

This was really hard for me because there are so many blogs that I like & so many that have already received this award. So I hope that I haven't chosen anyone that has (if you have, I'm sorry. I chose in good faith. But hey, that just means your blog is 2X as spooktacular!)

I chose the following:

I am with so many of the others on this... don't think the next blog would appreciate this award. Four cute little blond haired kids with smiley faces and a blog title of "Our Little Wonders". Yeahhhh I'm going to skip this one.

2. Post those you gave the award to, so fans of your site can see the places you like and that you Paid it Forward, too.

Attitude + Birthday cockroaches

Although this doesn't pertain to Halloween or the upcoming holidays, I wanted to share this with you all. This quote has given me a positive attitude during hard times. I keep this on my refrigerator so anytime I feel down, I can pick myself up.
Attitude
By: Charles Swindoll

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is out attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of out attitudes."

I made some cupcakes for a co-worker's surprise birthday lunch... I HAD to put some plastic cockroaches in the icing as a "surprise". Does this make me demented? I think she will like it though...

Jack the Vampire Elf

I purchased this tonight from "Jack in the Crack" as we call it here. Although it's not Christmas yet, it was for a good cause. The elf cost $1.00 with the proceeds going to charity (I forgot which one.. the Boys & Girls Club maybe?)
Any way, I thought I would represent us Creepers.

After:

I am also keeping my "Support Zombies" car decal on the back.

"Bread Dead"

So my mind has been all over the place today... I guess it's due to Mondayitis or the fact that I am "bread dead". Bread dead is when you are so tired that you confuse the words brain and bread and it's totally accepted by your peers as a legitimate statement.
So here are some random bits floating in my head today:

Punkin Chunkin... I wish I could attend :/

Spellbinder 1988 Review
Video is suggestive, but nothing you wouldn't see
 on today's  programming.

I give it:

Tim Daly and Kelly Preston costar in this magical drama about
a young lawyer who falls in love with a woman named Miranda.
But Miranda has a secret…

I don’t want to give too many spoilers so I am going to keep it to a
minimum. But I will say this movie is great. I love the plot and the
characters. The movie ends in a direction very unexpected and
doesn’t end with a “happily ever after” good-feeling. Normally
I love happy endings, but love doesn’t always end up with a
walk down the aisle.

Anyway, watch it and let me know what you think.

Spose's "I'm Awesome" - it cheered me up today on the way home.
And the video is hilarious... Love the Snuggie part.

The fact that it is now COMPLETELY dark outside by 6 p.m.

And last, but not least: Zombie elves

Apparently Asmara has joined me:
Her new perch

Asmara - "Beautiful butterflies"
Apparently she is taking this to heart...

Classic Movies -- Reviews

I am going to say that writing reviews is not on my list of things that I am good at. "Then why have posts that are titled reviews?" you ask. Just because I don't do something well, doesn't mean I still won't try. So I'm giving it a shot. I also don't like lonnnng reviews about movies.. just tell me whether it's good enough to waste 1-2 hours of my life. I do however like lengthy reviews about places to go (haunts, restaurants, etc). I know, I make absolutely no sense.

Here is my rating system:

A 3-Skull rating means it's awesome and you won't regret viewing

A 2-Skull rating means it's alright, but don't blame me if you don't like it.

A 1-Skull rating means that it's SHIZ.

If I leave an "Invisible Man" (aka nothing) then that means it was worthless & I wasted my time even blogging about it.

While I understand that everyone has different taste pertaining to movies (etc), these ratings will of course be my opinion. If you disagree, then that's cool. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion & I won't hold it against ya. LOL :]
I put my review rating system in the sidebar for future reference because I don't want to go over the rating system again.. I'm lazy.

So here are some  classic movies:

  • Cat People 1942
  • Abbott & Costello Meet the Mummy (1955)
  • Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
  • Arsenic & Old Lace (1944)
I also want to say thanks to my friend Sharon for recommending Cat People. Also to Mantan Calaveras for enlightening me on Arsenic & Old Lace and Abbott  and Costello Meet Frankenstein.
